The Suburban
North area covers a diverse group neighborhoods on Austin's
north side, south of Hwy 183 and west of Loop 1. They include
Jester Estates, Great Hills, Mesa Park, Balcones Woods, Oak
Forest, Hunter Oaks, Champions Forest, Lakewood, Millwood
and others.
Each neighborhood has its own unique style and character.
Homes were built from the 1970's- to brand new. Great Hills
is well known as a golf course community close to the Arboretum
- an upscale shopping hub.
This Suburban North section is a well established area with
mature neighborhoods. Lots are mostly under 1/4 acre and vary
between flat to hillside. Trees are plentiful and mature.
There are nearby churches, shopping centers and restaurants.
The overall ambience is of a close-in, established suburban
area with affordable to upscale homes.
Both the Austin ISD and Round Rock ISD serve this area, with
Westwood High and Anderson High Schools. The 20 minute drive
to downtown is an important part of the appeal of the area.
Loop 360 gives good access to north or south Austin.
