| About 45
minutes north of Austin is the small town of Georgetown. The
downtown area is exceptionally charming, built in the town square
style with old Texas storefronts. Georgetown offers a combination
of new developments and old Victorian neighborhoods. This area
has experienced strong growth in the past 5 years. Some country
style neighborhoods offer acreage lots. Georgetown Village,
one of the newer neighborhoods, is built according to the principles
of the new urban design. Berry Creek is a popular golf course
neighborhood. Del Webb's Sun City is a small city in itself
built for senior citizens.
The San Gabriel River brings parks and scenic lush terrain
to this area. The respected Southwestern University is located
here. The area is served by the Georgetown School District.
Overall, the ambience in Georgetown is that of a quiet, quaint,
sophisticated small town.
